After going through the brief thoroughly, and getting ample amount of requirements to be done in such a plot size and locality. The concept was to develop a space that providesholistic and comprehensive care to patients. We were very clear on our part to develop spaces that fulfill the complete set of requirements and give a complete experience for optometry and ophthalmology programs to the patients. In the concept development stage, the vertical zoning of the building was done in a way that kept the two floors that is the basement floor and the ground floor as the Outdoor patient department including some amenities. The first floor is divided into two zones one being the Indoor Patient department and the other for the Septic OT complex (septic OT being separate from the main OT complex as per NABH norms) and the second floor is zoned as the main OT complex. The requirement for the third floor came a bit later in the picture where the client demanded for a resident space for the doctors in need of emergency cases if they had to stay late at night. This also made the façade to be challenging after the introduction of another floor. Colors play a major role in the healing of the patient, use of cool colors was very clear in our concept.
